Community Update: Fireworks Operation in Homerton Sector

We currently have an ongoing fireworks operation across the Homerton area, focusing on Retreat Place e9 , Frampton Park E9 , Mare Street E8 , Lower Clapton E5 and the surrounding neighbourhoods.

As part of our proactive approach to tackling fireworks-related antisocial behaviour  Neighbourhood officers have been carrying out dedicated evening patrols alongside Hackney Council Enforcement Officers in identified hotspot locations. These joint patrols are designed to deter individuals from setting off fireworks irresponsibly and to ensure that appropriate enforcement action is taken where necessary.

The operation has already delivered positive results, with numerous stop and searches conducted, fireworks recovered, and several Anti-Social Behaviour Warnings issued. Working closely with our partners at Hackney Council has strengthened our ability to address concerns raised by residents and respond swiftly to incidents.

We understand the significant impact that fireworks-related antisocial behaviour can have on local communities, particularly during the evenings. We will therefore continue our high-visibility patrols and enforcement activity throughout the remainder of the month to help keep residents safe, reduce nuisance behaviour, and ensure everyone can enjoy the local area without disruption.

We would encourage residents to continue reporting any concerns or incidents to police so that we can take appropriate action and target our resources where they are needed most.
